YLDA Adopts Strategic Plan
2004-08-23

The Young Liberals and Democrats of Asia conducted its first-ever Strategic Planning Workshop and first General Meeting in Manila last August 18-21, 2004.

The three-day workshop enabled the participants to pinpoint the YLDA's mission and goals, locate the organization's strengths and weaknesses, and prioritize their plan of actions. One of the conclusions of the workshop was that a permanent secretariat should be set-up in Manila. The workshop also decided on the date and venue for the second General Meeting. This will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal on the second week of October 2004.

The following organizations took part in the Strategic Planning Workshop: KALIPI, Youth Initiative (Nepal), Young Liberals of Sri Lanka, Democratic Progressive Party-Youth (Taiwan), Khmer Nation Youth Movement (Cambodia), Students' Movement for Democracy (Cambodia), Nation Awakening Party-Youth (Indonesia) and Institute for Democracy and Leadership (Sri Lanka).

The workshop was hosted by the Kabataang Liberal ng Pilipinas and sponsored by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in cooperation of the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD).
