Running Successful Political Campaigns workshop 2005-04-14
The Young Liberals and Democrats of Asia (YLDA) is gearing
up for its Running Successful Political Campaigns
workshop on May 11-16, 2005. It will be held Yogyakarta,
Indonesia, known to many as the cultural heart of Java.
PKB-Youth, the youth wing of Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa
and an YLDA member organization, is hosting the workshop
in cooperation with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.
The workshop is being organized so that our participants
understand the basic rules and elements of successful political
campaigns in diverse political and cultural settings and,
connected with this, appreciate the need for strategic thinking
in developing campaigns. Prominent speakers will be invited
so that participants can understand the basics of current
domestic politics in Indonesia. Participants will also learn
about the best practices in political campaigns in Indonesia,
Europe, and compare these with a successful commercial campaign
in Indonesia. Ultimately, we hope participants will learn
how to develop campaign plans on the local, national, and
regional/international level.

within the government system and proposed the establishment of a Reform Committee
in order to mitigate poor governance within the administration. His calls were
left unheeded and so he eventually withdrew support for the government and joined
the efforts advocating for reform in the government. Read more...
