New Media Magic for Asian Youth Federation
2005-08-02

Its 20.5 megabytes large, six minutes long and comes in a flash format. It's the Young Liberals and Democrats of Asia's (YLDA) new media presentation. This technology works wonders for a quick and informative storytelling of YLDA as it's packed with YLDA's history, constitution and previous activities. 23 year old graphics designer Patrick Tan from the Philippines fused it with various images garnered from member organization websites and blended it with strains of Asian house music& - a reflection of YLDA's vibrance. The result? The production team proudly describes it as a cross between a music video and a documentary on hyper drive. It's cool, but also informative and full of substance.

The YLDA presentation had its first run during the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats executive meeting in Bangkok last June. It will be used in future events, conferences and other activities to give an introduction to YLDA.

He championed "Responsible Openness" within the government system and proposed the establishment of a Reform Committee in order to mitigate poor governance within the administration. His calls were left unheeded and so he eventually withdrew support for the government and joined the efforts advocating for reform in the government. Read more...
